Go Back

The next step regarding the front forks was to re-assemble with the new bushes etc. then position the front hub into the leading links using existing spacers and temporary bushes to obtain the correct plane for run - out when the rim is fitted and the wheel is built up with new spokes. This will ensure that  the rim runs exactly centrally between the forks.

This includes the caliper plate (distorted by the fire) which we will either replace or  straighten in due course. A trip to Lincolnshire to our wheel expert Chris has been made and we should see the completed  wheel  soon.

We have been attempting to source the main fairing mould for some weeks now and the nearest we have been able to come up with is this one at Sam Pearson's workshop near Brigg, Lincs.

Widthwise it is almost spot on, but the cutaways to the sides are being removed and some additional material is being added to the wheel / turn area at the base front. We hope the fairing will be ready to try quite soon.
